SAF Recruits Ready for “New Normal”, Takes Oath

 

A total of 167 members of SAF Recruit Class 2020-02 took their oath with PMGEN AMANDO CLIFTON B EMPISO, Director, SAF as the appointing authority on July 1, 2020 at Headquarters SAF, Camp Bagong Diwa, Bicutan, Taguig City amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

Observing safety and health standard protocols set by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID), the oath-taking ceremony was conducted simultaneously with the ceremonies at PNP Headquarters in Camp Crame and Police Regional Offices nationwide wherein PGEN ARCHIE FRANCISCO F GAMBOA, Chief, PNP delivered his message via Zoom. Also, for the first time, the traditional reception rites after the ceremony was removed.

The said batch named as “MADALASIG” or “Mandirigmang may Dangal, Lakas at Sigasig” is the second batch of SAF recruits for this year composed of 147 males and 20 females. They underwent five phases of recruitment process to select the best and most qualified applicants based on the standards set by the PNP and NAPOLCOM.

 The successful applicants were appointed with the rank of Patrolman and Patrolwoman in temporary status and shall be appointed in permanent status upon the completion of their training. They will also start receiving the monthly pays and allowances mandated for them.

Said trainees are expected to add up soon to the present strength of SAF as it continues to expand in number and bolster its capabilities to better suppress insurgency, terrorism, and other threats to national security in line with President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s directive.
